1- Surah Al-Fil
In Arabic, it is referred to as “Ashab al Fil,” a Quranic narrative highlighting the obstinate nature of past societies characterized by wickedness, arrogance, and persecution of the believers. Allah recounts this tale to serve as a reminder to the disbelievers of the Quraysh that He is the sole God of the Ka’ba and the ultimate protector. The familiar pattern unfolds, concluding with the punishment befalling the wrongdoers and the triumph of the oppressed.
The episode revolves around the tyrannical ruler of Yemen, Abrahah Al-Habashi, who, angered by the people of Yemen’s pilgrimage to the Kaaba, erects a church to obstruct their journey to Mecca. When his church is desecrated, Abrahah, in a fit of rage, assembles a formidable army of elephants to annihilate the Kaaba. Despite facing resistance from some tribes, Abrahah’s forces prevail, seizing their camels.
Upon reaching the Kaaba, the elephant, crucial to their destructive plan, refuses to advance, defying all attempts to coerce it. Divine retribution ensues as God dispatches flocks of birds carrying stones in their claws and beaks. These stones, resembling the fire of Hell, are hurled at Abrahah’s army, reducing them to a state akin to consumed crops.

This tale revolves around a group of faithful individuals residing in a land dominated by non-believers. Faced with the imminent threat to their lives due to their faith, they make a pivotal decision to abandon their city and seek refuge in a cave solely for the sake of Allah and their beliefs. In response, Allah bestows a deep slumber upon them. Upon awakening, they discover a remarkable transformation – all the inhabitants of their city have embraced faith.
This narrative illustrates the profound principle that when individuals place their trust in Allah, He intervenes to alleviate their hardships and comes to their aid.
Lesson – The lesson derived from this narrative underscores that Allah subjects a person’s faith to trials. When confronted with trials of faith, and the believer remains steadfast, Allah assists in ways beyond human understanding.
Additionally, the story imparts the lesson that a Muslim should consistently associate with virtuous and righteous companions. The companions of the cave were all righteous individuals, and their unity played a role in attracting the mercy and support of Allah.
3- surah baqarah story of the cow
This particular event, mentioned in the Holy Quran, recounts the story of a wealthy man among the Children of Israel who possessed substantial wealth and property. Unfortunately, he had no heirs to inherit his wealth except for his nephew. Tragically, the man was murdered, and his death remained unknown to everyone. The mystery of identifying the killer unraveled through a series of events.
Due to the urgency of finding the killer, the community unanimously decided to seek the counsel of Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him), acknowledging him as the only one capable of providing a solution. After narrating the incident to Hazrat Musa, he, in turn, sought guidance from Allah Almighty.
Allah instructed Hazrat Musa to slaughter a cow, take a portion of its meat, and place it on the deceased person’s body. This unique method, Allah revealed, would revive the dead man, enabling him to disclose the identity of his murderer. However, this directive faced significant opposition, primarily due to the cultural reverence for cows, with some worshipping them as deities.
Hazrat Musa encountered challenges as people began worshiping a calf in his absence. Perhaps, Allah intended to eradicate the notion of cow worship from their hearts by directing them to slaughter a cow. Despite their attempts to ridicule Hazrat Musa, he remained resolute, emphasizing that any cow meeting the criteria would suffice.
The Children of Israel, displaying stubbornness and arrogance, further complicated matters by requesting Hazrat Musa to seek clarification from Allah regarding specific details of the cow. Through divine guidance, Hazrat Musa conveyed that the cow should be middle-aged, yellow in color, pleasing to the beholder, not meant for plowing or irrigation, and free from defects.
Eventually, they found a suitable cow owned by a young boy who inherited it from his father. The father, on his deathbed, entrusted the cow to Allah, and the boy’s mother, fearing the Israelites, left him in the forest. They bought the cow from the boy, slaughtered it, and placed a piece of its meat on the deceased man’s body. True to Allah’s guidance, the dead man temporarily revived and identified his nephew as the murderer before passing away again.
The primary lesson from this incident emphasizes unwavering submission to Allah’s commands, even when their wisdom may not be immediately apparent. Acknowledging the limitations of human understanding, believers are urged to faithfully follow Allah’s decrees, recognizing submission as a fundamental tenet of Islam.
4- Surah Yunus
Surah Yunus, also known as Jonah, holds the position of the tenth chapter in the Noble Quran. It derives its name from a concise account of the story of Jonah mentioned in one of its verses. Primarily revealed in Mecca, Surah Yunus is classified as a Makki surah. The narrative within this surah not only encompasses the tale of Jonah but also delves into the stories of Noah and Moses. 5- Surah Maryam
Surah Maryam (in Arabic text: مريم) is the 19th chapter of the Qur’an. The surah titled in English means “Mary” referring to the mother of Jesus (‘isa) عليه السلام. The surah consists of 98 verses.
